I can honestly say, I had a great time at #Houston SharePoint TechFest yesterday. Not only was able I able to catch up with almost 10 former co-workers/clients, I also ran into some old friends, familiar faces in the exhibitor's hall, and was able to catch up with some fellow speakers in the speaker's lounge in between #sessions and networking. If you didn't make it this year and you're involved with #SharePoint in the Houston or surrounding areas, then I highly recommend attending next year. Its a great event with a strong presence of the local SharePoint community attending, presenting and putting it on. My session on Free/Community Tools, Libraries and Templates went better than I expected. I was trying to wiz through as many cool tools as possible but time wouldn't permit to show all of the around 100 tools I have used over
The #Microsoft Office #Chrome Extension gives you quick access to your recent documents, #OneDrive storage, local documents, opens them directly in a fully functional browser version of the respective Office application, and more. This is a bit of old news (well over a year in fact) but I have never really seen anyone else using before so I thought maybe some of my readers might find this useful. I am HUGE fan of #Chrome extensions and use them extensively. In fact, I have so many I am constantly fighting with which ones to disable/enable to save space next to the address bar. I used to have so many that I would often crash the browser or slow my OS down to a standstill. Although, the second issue is no longer a problem due to the purchase of my Dell Precision laptop (6th generation

There are some really exciting things coming out for #Office 365, #SharePoint, #OneDrive, Azure, Office, Skype, you name it! It's mind blowing how fast some of these new things are coming out and its looking more and more like people will have to begin becoming even more focused within this space as the functionality continues to grow and develop. At some point, it's just going to be impossible to keep up with every single facet, actually it already is. make sure you take note that chat within a document is NOT saved like your other #Skype for Business chats are. This could be a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at things. I can't wait to try this out with someone today. I will let you know how the experience goes in the comments when I finally get
Microsoft has announced the general availability of Office Online Server (OOS). Now you can offer the same functionality that you get from the Office 365 experience through your own on premise servers. This means that organizations that would like to offer a browser based experience of their office applications such as excel, word, etc. they can now do so with this new offering without having to have an Office 365 plan.
