PnP is community driven open source initiative where and external community members are sharing their learning's around implementation practices for and . Active and contributions happen our GitHub projects under 'dev' branch and each month there will be a master merge (monthly release) with more comprehensive testing and communications. PnP is owned and coordinated by SharePoint engineering, but this is work done by the community for the community. In August 2016, we announced that Office 365 Groups would get full-powered SharePoint team sites. There are some really exciting things coming out for , , , Azure, Office, Skype, you name it!  It's mind blowing how fast some of these new things are coming out and its looking more and more like people will have to begin becoming even more focused within this space as the functionality continues to grow and develop.  At some point, it's just going to be impossible to keep up with every single facet, actually it already is. make sure you take note that chat within a document is NOT saved like your other chats are.  This could be a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at things.  I can't wait to try this out with someone today.  I will let you know how the experience goes in the comments when I finally get

Office 365 Patterns and Practices (PnP) Partner Packs

Native Office 365 Responsive Design & Templates via Patterns and Practices

A couple of months ago Microsoft released the Office 365 Patterns and Practices (PnP) Partner Pack and it includes some wonderful goodies that are LONG overdue.  Among them is probably the most sought after feature that has yet to be natively baked into the product and that is Responsive Design. Here are all the features currently included in the Partner Pack but I am sure it will grow over time:
  • Self-service site collection and sub site provisioning solution
    • Fully configurable based on business requirements
    • Save existing site as new template from the standard user interface
    • Template creation does not require xml or script knowledge - New templates can be generated

Distributed Cache service won’t start / stuck / erroring

The Cache with 1,000 names AKA the SharePoint Distributed Cache AKA Hell

If you ever have a problem with your Distributed cache | Windows App Faric 1.0 or 1.1 | Cache Cluster | Windows Fabric Host Service | App Fabric Caching Service | SPDistributedCacheServiceInstance | Velocity Cache | DataCacheFactory | DistributedViewStateCache | AFCacheClusterConfiguration | SPDistributedCacheService | CacheHost | AppFabricCachingService | FeedCacheService | FeedCacheClient | SPDistributedCacheClusterInfoManager | CacheClusterConfig and yes I am missing at least a couple more! Or, because of one of these, your having trouble with your News Feeds, Can't Start or stuck starting your distributed cache in central admin, and or you're getting one of the 600 other errors that can be caused by this giant pain in the ass that doesn't know how to start itself, update it's own registry keys, config files, or even garbage collect
